


The Leaguers is a multi-purpose non-profit social services organization providing various services to the community for over 70 Years. Our centers are located in Newark, Irvington, Union Township, Roselle and Elizabeth.
We provide Head Start/Early Head Start services for over one thousand, one hundred (1100) 3 to 5 year old children and four hundred (400) infant/toddlers and their families.
Some of the other services at The Leaguers include, Pregnant Services, Father’s Program, Job and housing referrals and our newest initiative is the apprenticeship program.
Our agency collaborates with many other social service agencies in the Essex and Union County area to provide our families with a holistic approach to family wellbeing.

OUR SERVICES

At The Leaguers, children from birth to five experience school readiness and supportive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environments.
EARLY HEAD START

Children are engaged in a healthy learning environment where appropriate injury prevention strategies are applied to promote child safety and prevent injuries.
HEALTH AND NUTRITION

The Mental Health/ Disabilities service area supports families with exceptional children, ages zero to five (0-5) enrolled in our Head Start/ Early Head Start programs.
MENTAL HEALTH/
DISABILITIES

The male mentoring program aims to actively generate and promote the involvement of men in the lives of their children, family, and community. This initiative focuses on encouraging men to take a more active, positive role in parenting.
MALE MENTORING PROGRAM

The Leaguers help support and teach what families do at home and in the community to support their children's learning and development.
PARENT, FAMILY, COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Our Pre-Natal Program services expecting women and their families through weekly 90 minute home visits and bi-weekly group socialization events.
